Geode Hunt

Last April Doug had a great idea to take the family on a geode hunt.  We packed our shovels, picks, baskets, and buckets and drove an hour and a half away, past Tooele almost out to the Salt Flats.  We dug, got dirty, and had a picnic.  We all had a good time and found some pretty geodes.  The kids loved finding the rocks and having Doug and I break them open to see what was inside.

After we were happy with all our 'treasure' and 'diamonds' we found we decided to do a little exploring.  The kids and I found a horny toad, we caught it and brought it home in a Rubbermaid container.  The kids named him Geo and we kept him for a couple days before we let him out in the field by out house.
