Ashlyn's Allergy

We made it 7 1/2 years without any of the kids ever having an ear infection.  Ashlyn came into our bed one night complaining that her ear was hurting her.  She was crying and in a lot of pain all night.  I took her into Instacare in the morning and sure enough she had and ear infection.  The doctor gave her a prescription for Amoxicillin and we started to give it to her.  She was feeling much better the next day and I continued to give it to her all week.  Seven days into her 10 day course of antibiotics she started to get a rash.  I wasn't sure it was a reaction to the medication because she had already been on it for a week.

Throughout the day her rash was getting progressively worse.  I decided to take her to the Doctor.  Sure enough she was allergic to the Amoxicillin.  They gave her a shot of steroids and her rash was almost completely gone in two hours after her injection.

 Her Back

The back of her legs, poor girl!
