Cinco De Mayo

I ran my second half-marathon this year on Cinco De Mayo.  I did not do very well on my first 13.1 last year so I set a goal to beat my old time by 15 minutes.  I trained A LOT harder and longer for this race, I had a great friends who trained and helped me along the way.  I signed up for the Provo City Half-Marathon and I absolutely loved it.  It was a chilly morning but I felt prepared and excited to run.  I started off strong and felt good as the miles went on.  The scenery was so beautiful!  Running down the canyon in the spring with all the trees in bloom and waterfalls cascading down the mountains was inspiring.

I decided I was going to run the entire race without stopping once.  I only grabbed one drink and an orange slice on the run at about mile nine.  My knee started to bother me at about mile 12 but at that point there was no way I was going to stop.

I beat my goal by ten minutes and had a personal best time of

I love this picture, not because I look good (obviously), but because this is the strongest I have ever felt in my life!
